Northern Lights Luxury Rehab in Muskoka is hiring a full-time Peer Support Specialist.

Position Overview Peer Support Specialist

Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Location: Muskoka, Ontario (On-site)

Target: Individuals with lived recovery experience

Reporting to: Clinical Director

Responsibilities

Mentorship: Guide clients through early recovery phases.

Support: Facilitate daily peer‑led group discussions.

Collaboration: Work with clinicians on care plans.

Transition: Assist clients with post‑rehab discharge planning.

Documentation: Maintain accurate, confidential daily progress notes.

Qualifications

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support and connect authentically with individuals.

Experience in facilitating group sessions and managing peer‑to‑peer dynamics.

Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external partners.

Understanding of recovery principles and the ability to share relevant personal experiences appropriately.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and create a safe, supportive environment.

Available for on‑site full‑time work in Muskoka lakes.

Previous experience in peer support or mental health services is an asset.

Training or certification in peer support, counseling, or related fields is highly beneficial.

Required Qualifications / Experience Minimum two years of continuous sobriety.

Strong active listening and boundary setting.

Reliable vehicle for Muskoka‑area travel.
