Prep Cook (Oro-Medonte)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES - Follow the prep list created by CDP, Sous Chef and/or Chef to plan duties - Label and stock all ingredients on shelves in an organized manner and easily accessible using basic FIFO principles - Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking by following standardized recipes. - Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc. - Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc. - Prepare simple dishes such as salads, sandwiches and entrees when required. - Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. - Ensure all food and other items are stored properly - Perform other kitchen duties as assigned WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL - High school diploma - Training from a culinary school is preferred - Must have own reliable transportation - Food Handling Certificate required - Basic knife handling skills required - Required to work a rotating schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. - Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils - A team player with good communication skills - Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure - Attention to detail and team oriented - Maintain good energy levels and professionalism - Good organizational skills - First Aid Certificate/ CPR an asset WHAT WE OFFER - In office parking - Team member discounts and spa perks Incredible team spirit in a safe and supportive work environment and an opportunity to grow with us.
