Because we believe that your career path should be as unique as you are.Group Summary:The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.Recognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.Job Responsibilities:QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:Immediate, open position- Industrial Technologist: $70,000 - $90,000 annual compensation- Industrial Engineer: $85,000 - #110,000 annual compensationGraduate of a recognized Engineering program or related technical program at College/University levelPreference given to those with 3-5 year’s of related experience in an industrial environmentExperience in time and motion direct labour measurementExperience with product and process flow developmentExperience in PFMEA development.Plant layout experience requiredValue Stream Mapping experience preferredMust have excellent teambuilding and leadership skillsProven understanding of lean manufacturing concepts, mechanical equipment and processesExcellent organization, problem solving and decision making skillsMust have proven negotiating skills combined with the ability to handle stressful situations professionallyMust be self-motivated and able to carry projects through to completion- Excellent communication and presentation skills (English - spoken and written)Proficient use of MS Office applications, AutoCADMAIN DUTIES:Measure, Analyse and Improve production processes specifically related to product flowDevelop, revise and implement equipment and process layoutsDevelop, implement and monitor labour standards for all equipment and processesEstablish line balance standard through use of MOST and Time study methodsDevelop timing plans for new product / project implementationDocument processes through process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, Value Stream Maps, Layouts etc.Validation / verification of recent processes to ensure capability to requirementsResponsible for Project managementDevelop Lean Manufacturing standardsWork with production personnel to help implement cost savings and process improvement ideasOther duties as assignedAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
