Technical Manager (Oshawa)

Position: TECHNICAL MANAGER Location: DIEPPE, NB or HALIFAX, NS This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional engineer who knows how to build lasting relationships, and who understands that successful sales are equal parts technical astuteness and interpersonal skills. S.C. Delong Sales Inc. is recruiting a Technical Manager. This position supports the Sales Department. The successful candidate is responsible for assessing, identifying, and securing new business. The incumbent will provide technical assistance at all steps; from the point of assessing and responding to the RFP to the project commissioning debriefing end meeting. The incumbent will also build solid relationships with engineers, architects, and professional firms for the purpose of branding and project cooperation. The challenge of this position is sourcing business that “fits” SCD and its business vision. Desired Experience: - MUST have minimum three (3) years’ experience in outside technical / industrial sales - Experience proposal writing - Technical know-how in hydronics and fluid mechanics, reservoirs, pumps (gear, vane, piston), control valves, actuators (cylinders/motors), and hydraulic fluid boiler operations and stationary engineering. Desired Qualifications: - MUST have completed mechanical, industrial or process engineer degree. - Hydronics certification (e.g. Hydronics Installers and Designers, ASSE International 19000 Series, HYDRO19119/19210, Hydronic Technician Associate, etc.) would be an asset but is not required. - PEng designation would be an asset but is not required. - Sales certificate would also be an asset but is not required. MUST have completed mechanical, process or industrial engineering degree! - Be proficient in MS Office and PDF Editor. - Advanced math. - Experience with SolidWorks and MATLAB. - Understanding of the sales cycle. - Have outstanding communication, active listening, and influencing skills. - Be self-motivated, independent, and a quick learner. - Be detail-oriented and have solid problem-solving and analytical skills. - French language skills would be an asset but not required.
