Recreation Program Assistant for Seniors, Oshawa

Make a difference in seniors' lives as a Recreation Program Assistant at Winchester Glen in Oshawa, ON. This part-time, permanent role requires planning and executing engaging recreational activities to support residents' well-being.

You will report to the Recreation Manager and work every other weekend. Your key tasks include assessing residents' recreational preferences and developing innovative programs designed to inspire joy and connectivity among participants with various abilities, especially the cognitively impaired.

Key Responsibilities:• Plan and implement enjoyable hands-on activities • Tailor programs to the interests and abilities of residents • Prepare and promote monthly recreational programs • Maintain a positive public image for the residence • Provide necessary administrative support

Requirements:• Minimum of 1 year experience in recreation programming • Background in working with seniors and cognitive impairments • Strong written and verbal communication proficiency • Valid First Aid and CPR certification • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
