Senior Software Engineer - Randstad Digital (Oshawa)

Senior Engineer – Guidewire ClaimCenter (Contract) Number of positions: 1, 6‑month initial contract with potential extension. Location: Anywhere in Canada; candidate should be near a client office for two days per week onsite. Must be eligible to work in Canada. Responsibilities - Lead the design and development of complex application features, acting as the technical lead for medium-to-large initiatives. - Collaborate with solution analysts and business stakeholders to produce technical designs that align with enterprise standards. - Own the software development life cycle from user story decomposition and requirement review through to final delivery. - Conduct peer code and design reviews, providing coaching to junior team members to maintain high-quality coding standards. - Develop and configure software within existing enterprise platforms, managing dependencies across integrated systems and data. - Ensure robust delivery through the creation and execution of automated tests and the enhancement of existing testing frameworks. Qualifications - At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in Guidewire application development, specifically on the Guidewire ClaimCenter. - Experience with Guidewire Cloud (Mammoth version) preferred; Guidewire Certified (Associate or ACE) is a significant asset. - Solid skills in GOSU, web services, and database management. - Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, TeamCity, Jira, and Confluence. - Prior experience within the insurance industry is a major plus. - Excellent analytical problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences. - Proven ability to foster teamwork.
