Warehouse Associate (Ottawa)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic logistics and distribution team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced workplace, utilizing various heavy equipment and warehouse management systems. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers. This position is essential in ensuring efficient shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management to support our company's operational goals. Duties - Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers safely and efficiently - Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment and techniques - Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment accurately and timely - Manage inventory movement within the warehouse using warehouse management systems like AS400 - Assist with shipping & receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and tracking - Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards - Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency - Support manufacturing or construction-related tasks as needed, including heavy lifting and assembly - Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and improve workflow processes Experience - Prior warehouse experience preferred, especially in distribution or manufacturing environments - Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms - Experience operating heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers - Mechanical knowledge or background in construction or heavy machinery operation is a plus - Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently - Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, order picking, packaging, and order fulfillment processes - Ability to operate load & unload equipment safely in compliance with safety regulations - Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and best practices for heavy equipment operation This Warehouse Associate role is vital for maintaining smooth warehouse operations while providing opportunities for skill development in logistics technology and heavy machinery operation.
