Your Role as Instrumentation & Controls Engineer: Choose your own adventure! Let’s talk about how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. As the Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, your role will include: - Prepare and review engineering deliverables for industrial facilities, including: - PLC/HMI control system architectures - I/O lists and control narratives - Loop diagrams and wiring schematics - Network architecture drawings - Control panel drawings - Specification and wiring design for field instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, analyzers, etc.) - Design of instrumentation and controls for hazardous classified areas. - Apply and interpret safety standards such as: - CSA Z432 / ISO 12100 - ISO 13849 / IEC 62061 - IEC 61511 - Design machine and process safety circuits, including: - Safety PLCs and relays - Emergency stops, interlocks, light curtains, and safety scanners - Safety instrumented functions - Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) - Provide commissioning support and troubleshooting at client sites - Collaborate on designs with electrical, mechanical, and process teams within JLR. - Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., CEC, ISA, CSA) - Support proposal development and cost estimates for engineering services - Designing, conducting internal coordination, project management, of Industrial projects, from concept through to completion. - Assisting with the management of workload of technicians and designers to ensure that project deadlines are met, and final deliverables align with client expectations. - Mentoring junior engineers, engineering graduates, and technologists.
