What do you offer? The YMCA of the National Capital Region’s Camp Otonabee provides an opportunity for children and youth to engage in outdoor activities, discover nature and enjoy the natural environment, build self-confidence and establish lasting friendships. Campers aged 4 to 16 can experience canoeing, rock climbing, kayaking, swimming and more. The Camp Office Assistant is responsible for business operations at the camp office and will report to the Camp Coordinator. This role will assist in operations of the office as needed and will provide administrative support to staff and volunteers. Some of the tasks of this position include: - Answering phone and email inquiries and setting up appointments. - Making follow-up phone calls to participants. - Performing administrative duties, including filing, data entry, photocopying, processing registrations, etc. - Assisting with the organization of information. What qualifications and abilities are we looking for? At the YMCA of the National Capital Region, we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following: Language - Ability to work in English - Bilingualism is an asset Experience, Skills and Abilities - Experience in customer service - Well-developed interpersonal, conflict resolution and relationship-building skills - Willingness to manage confrontational situations - Ability to learn and manage YMCA financial software and Microsoft Office Suite - Ability to operate all office equipment with proficiency and accuracy Additional Requirements - Applicants must be 16 years old by June 2026. - Applicants must have a current Standard First Aid and CPR "C" certification. - Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada. - A Police Record check, not more than 6 months old is required. Police Records checks are reviewed on an individual basis and the offense(s) - if any - is considered in the decision-making process in relation to the requirement of working with children, therefore not eliminating all candidates with a record from being offered a position. - Semi-annually, staff must complete the mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submit the certificate of completion.
