What is in it for you: - Wonderful company culture - our colleagues are at the heart of all that we do - Food & Beverage discount of 50% in our restaurants - Employee benefit card offering discounted rates in Accor worldwide for you and your family - Learning programs through our Academies designed to sharpen your skills - Ability to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Planet 21 - Full rate of pay of $18.43/hour Reporting to the Banquet Leadership Team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: - Consistently offer skilled, friendly and engaging service - Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way - Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet meetings - Have full knowledge of beverage lists - Have full knowledge of all menu items being served - Set tables according to event order, clients’ specifications and Fairmont Standards - Set rooms for functions that have food venues required - Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards - Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage - Other duties as assigned Qualifications - Previous experience in the culinary field required - Previous service experience an asset - Previous point of sale system experience an asset - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities - Highly responsible and reliable - Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment - Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team - Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times - Smart Serve Certification required - Bartending experience is an asset - Bilingual is an asset - Schedule flexibility (early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays) Additional Information Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): - Constant standing and walking throughout shift - Must be able to lift heavy trays (8 plates) - Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting - Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps Hours of Work: - Part-time employees on list "A" must choose up to and including thirty (30) but not exceeding thirty-two (32) regular hours in any work week Fairmont Château Laurier is proud to provide employment accommodation during the recruitment process.
