Team Overview - Define, execute and sustain integrated technology target state, target data model and operations for EDC’s 2030 transformation. - Manage the rolling 3‑year Digital Roadmap to sequence technology outcomes. - Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain relevance. - Lead integrated digital, data, infrastructure and cybersecurity implementations for superior customer, user and employee experiences. Data Platform Management The team delivers and operates EDC’s enterprise data & AI platforms, providing secure, scalable and reliable infrastructure for reporting, integration, analytics, and AI. Role Summary – As Director, you lead teams accountable for run excellence and platform evolution, turning strategy into execution by setting priorities, strengthening discipline and enabling greater self‑serve without increasing risk. What You Will Be Doing Data Platform Strategy and Delivery - Set and own the enterprise self‑serve model for data platforms. - Establish policy‑based access and provisioning standards to scale with demand and auditability. - Accountable for self‑service service design and adoption through a platform service catalog, onboarding patterns, and technical guardrails. - Partner with data governance, cybersecurity, and data owners to embed controls, observability, and lifecycle management. - Lead design, deployment and lifecycle management of enterprise data platforms across on‑premises and cloud environments. - Own evergreen strategy and technology refresh planning, managing roadmaps and aligning investments with priorities. Operational Excellence & Service Availability - Define and oversee platform operational metrics (availability, performance, capacity, utilization). Monitor, analyze trends and optimize performance. - Lead incident resolution, root‑cause analysis and executive communication for major platform and cloud infrastructure incidents. - Accountable for data platform and cloud infrastructure costs, contract renewals and vendor performance. - Align operations with enterprise ITSM/ITOM practices (incident, change, asset, and configuration management). Governance, Risk & Compliance - Own and communicate platform KPIs and risk posture to executive stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, cybersecurity standards and regulatory obligations. - Participate in enterprise risk assessments, business continuity and disaster recovery planning. - Maintain accurate technology inventories and lifecycle plans for audit readiness. Leadership & People Development - Lead, coach and develop high‑performing teams of administrators, cloud engineers and data architects. - Create a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement. - Set direction, expectations and capacity alignment for leaders and teams. - Act as a trusted partner to executives, influencing strategic priorities and enabling transformation. What We Are Looking For - Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related discipline. - Minimum 10 years of experience with data and analytics technologies. - Minimum 5 years of experience in leadership and people development. - Minimum 3 years of experience with ITIL/ITSM practices. - Minimum 3 years of Data Solution Architecture experience in at least two of: BI, Master Data Management, Enterprise Data Catalogs, Data Engineering & Integration. - Minimum 2 years of managed service provider, vendor and contract management experience. - Platform management experience across at least three domains: BI, Machine Learning & AI, Relational DB, Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Engineering, Data Integration, Azure Cloud Data Platforms. - Experience with deployment orchestration, configuration management and CI/CD. - Solid understanding of Agile delivery practices. - Bilingual in English and French (minimum speaking proficiency, Level B2). What Will Make You Stand Out - Business Intelligence, Machine Learning or Data Governance experience. - Data Engineering or ETL experience. - Project Management experience or certification (e.g., PMI). - Strong knowledge of ServiceNow and Azure DevOps platforms. - Knowledge of Fabric/PowerBI, SQL Server/Oracle RDBMS, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Purview, SAS Viya, Azure Data Lake or other emerging technologies. Eligibility EDC prefers candidates who can work legally in Canada (Canadian citizens or permanent residents) and who meet government security screening requirements.
