Warehouse Manager (Ottawa)

What you will do: - Provide leadership and direction to the warehouse team and hold team members accountable. - Oversee daily warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and returns, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. - Monitor inventory levels, conduct audits, and reconcile discrepancies. - Supervise and lead staff, including training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions, while fostering a positive work environment. - Ensure orders are processed accurately and timely, collaborating with sales and customer service teams. - Implement safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations. - Liaise with freight companies and customers to determine shipping priorities. - Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely, cost‑effective shipping and receiving, and manage relationships with suppliers and carriers. - Monitor product quality, addressing any issues or defects promptly. - Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve customer inquiries related to warehouse operations. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. - Provide occasional Saturday shifts to catch up on orders, receiving, and inventory prep. What you will bring: - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse management, preferably in the plumbing or HVAC industry. - Strong leadership and team management skills. - Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities. - Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations. - Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 lbs. - Exceptional customer service skills. - Dependable, reliable, and willing to take initiative. - Forklift certification or ability to obtain it. - WHMIS and TDG certifications are an asset.
