Description
Burnside Group of Companies is hiring a
Junior Field Representative / Assistant Contract Administrator
to join our Orangeville team. This is a strong opportunity for a recent graduate in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Technology who wants hands‑on experience, mentorship, and exposure to meaningful municipal infrastructure projects.
You will work with senior technical staff on municipal and Indigenous community infrastructure projects across Ontario and Canada. The role is primarily site‑based, with Orangeville as the preferred home office, and offers real opportunities to build your field, contract administration, and project coordination skills. Prepare site inspection reports, meeting notes, and project documentation.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, owners, and regulatory stakeholders.
Support contract administration tasks such as RFIs, shop drawings, site instructions, and progress claims.
Assist with technical investigations, tender documents, cost estimates, and other project support work as your experience grows.
What You’ll Bring
A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Technology, or Construction Technology.
Strong organization, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to manage changing priorities.
Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel.
A valid Class G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Nice to Have
Progress toward OACETT certification.
Construction site inspection or field experience.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
A working understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
Hourly Rate: $27.00 - $32.00/hr
Position Type: New Position
Benefits
A collaborative culture where friendship, honesty and respect are part of our core values and practices.
Flexible working hours and office locations, including hybrid working opportunities.
A competitive compensation and benefits package.
RRSP company matching plan.
Career growth and professional development opportunities.
Potential for performance‑driven bonusing.
Active social committees.
A welcoming, positive, and inclusive work environment.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to valuing diversity in the workplace and we welcome resumes from all qualified candidates. Burnside will provide reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities throughout the entire recruitment, assessment, and selection process, as required. If you are a person with a disability and require an accommodation during these processes, please contact our Human Resources department.
