THE ROLE The Employment & Labour Relations Officer leads and supports the delivery of effective labour relations strategies that promote a fair and productive workplace. You will investigate and resolve grievances and workplace issues, identify root causes, and provide clear, practical advice, including the use of alternative dispute resolution where appropriate. You will prepare reports and correspondence on a range of employment matters, including discipline and terminations. In this role, you will negotiate settlements, coordinate disciplinary processes, and guide managers on policies, collective agreements and legislation. You will also support the preparation of cases for mediations, hearings and administrative boards, and assist legal counsel in building well‑supported positions. QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, AND several year’s of experience in human resources, or in a related field Experience In applying and interpreting human resources related policies, procedures and legislation In providing labour relations related advice In collective bargaining In interpreting collective agreements In developing, evaluating, interpreting, editing and implementing policies and procedures In interpreting relevant legislation and regulations In grievance and complaint investigation and dispute resolution In conducting research In conducting presentations Competencies Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
