Accounting Operations Manager to step into a key leadership role supporting the accounting function within a multi‑entity organization. This is a newly created role designed to strengthen internal financial operations, drive consistency, and support the continued growth of the business. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is an on‑site leadership role where you will oversee the day‑to‑day accounting operations while leading a team of Accounting Managers. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of financial processes, while providing structure, accountability, and direction across the team. On‑site in Peterborough, Ontario Lead, mentor, and hold accountable a team of Accounting Managers. Provide clear direction, support decision‑making, and ensure alignment across the team. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Support team development, performance management, and capacity planning. Accounting Operations & Oversight Oversee full‑cycle accounting across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Ensure consistency in accounting practices, processes, and reporting standards. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Provide insights into financial performance and identify areas for improvement. Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and inconsistencies across accounting workflows. Implement and standardize processes to improve team efficiency and output quality. Collaboration & Business Support Partner closely with leadership to support strategic and operational priorities. Act as a key liaison between the accounting function and other internal teams. Provide regular updates to leadership on team performance, capacity, and financial insights. 6 - 8+ years of progressive accounting experience. Experience in a multi‑client environment (accounting firm or similar). Previous experience leading or supporting a team. Strong understanding of full‑cycle accounting and financial reporting. Comfortable balancing hands‑on work with team leadership. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Familiarity with cloud‑based accounting tools (e.g., Experience supporting teams through growth or change.
