Cook/Kitchen Hand (Owen Sound)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic culinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a rapid-paced environment, providing high-quality food service and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent communication skills, and experience in hospitality settings, including restaurants, hotels, or cafes. This position is essential in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and delivering exceptional customer service. Duties - Assist with food preparation and cooking to meet quality standards and presentation expectations - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces - Support the serving staff by preparing ingredients and plating dishes as needed - Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and transactions - Handle food safely according to health regulations and food safety standards - Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and restocking supplies - Contribute to a welcoming guest experience through friendly communication and efficient service - Support cashiering duties including cash handling and processing payments accurately - Ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance issues promptly Requirements - Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments preferred - Knowledge of food handling safety protocols and food safety standards - Experience with food preparation, cooking, serving, and cashiering systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms - Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guests - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays if required - Basic cleaning skills to uphold hygiene standards in the kitchen area - Hospitality experience such as hotel or barista roles is a plus but not mandatory - A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to learn new skills This role offers an engaging work environment where your culinary skills can thrive while delivering excellent guest experiences.
