Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position offers hands-on training and the opportunity to develop skills in repairing and maintaining heavy machinery and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in mechanical systems, a willingness to learn, and the physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks. This role provides a comprehensive apprenticeship experience in a dynamic workplace, preparing you for a career as a skilled heavy duty mechanic. Duties Assist with the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment such as semi trucks/boom trucks and trailers Learn to diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively Support the assembly, disassembly, and reassembly of machinery components Operate heavy equipment under supervision to gain practical experience Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work setting Collaborate with experienced mechanics to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Gain knowledge of dealership standards and customer service practices related to heavy machinery repair Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or coursework in mechanics is a plus Robust interest in heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and repair Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, schematics, and industrial equipment Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, and assembly is desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good communication skills and willingness to learn from experienced professionals Valid driver’s license preferred for operational training purposes This apprenticeship position is designed to provide valuable industry experience while supporting your growth into a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic.
