General Labourer (Combermere)

SUMMARY Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the General Labourer packs, ties, labels, counts and identifies wood using various handling equipment. Main duties · Operate wood handling equipment on the stacking line. · Piling lumber by hand. · Band and wrap lumber. · Maintain a clean and organized workstation and yard. · Adhere to all workplace safety rules and regulations. · Adhere to customer service commitments. · Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, skills and abilities - Attention to detail - Able to count and identify wood products of various sizes. - Must have own steel-toe boots. - Basic math skills. - Able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms, and heavier weights as required - Must be able to speak, read and write English Requirements Education - High school diploma is an asset Employment Status - Permanent full-time Benefits Compensation - $19.74/hr as per Schedules A & B of the Collective Agreement with the United Steel Workers - Overtime may be available - Health benefits Working hours - Monday to Friday - 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. - Must be versatile with start and finish times.
