Yoga Instructor (Creston)

The Yoga Instructor delivers culturally sensitive, trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness programming to residential clients as part of the treatment centre’s holistic wellness offerings. Sessions support physical wellbeing, emotional regulation, and stress reduction within a healing-centred workplace. Key Responsibilities: Program Delivery: - Plan and facilitate group yoga and movement-based sessions adapted to the needs of individuals in residential treatment. - Apply trauma-informed approaches in all instruction, maintaining a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space. - Adapt programming to varying physical abilities, trauma histories, and cultural backgrounds. - Integrate mindfulness, breathwork, and grounding practices in alignment with the centre’s holistic wellness framework. Collaboration & Documentation: - Work collaboratively with the clinical team to align programming with individual client treatment goals. - Maintain session records and provide brief program notes as required. - Participate in staff meetings and contribute to continuous program improvement. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe wellness space. Key Requirements: - Current certification from a recognized yoga teacher training program (minimum 200-hour RYT through Yoga Alliance or equivalent). - Training in trauma-informed yoga (e.g., Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, TCTSY) is strongly preferred. - Experience working with individuals experiencing trauma, addiction, or mental health challenges. - Current First Aid/CPR certification. - Experience in or knowledge of Indigenous wellness traditions and practices is an asset. - Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle. - Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. - Cultural humility and respect for Indigenous governance and knowledge systems.
