About The Job Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBH) is a 75 bed acute care site in the Kootenay Boundary health service area and responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services. Located in Trail, between Grand Forks and Nelson, KBH offers services including core physician specialties, 24 hour emergency and trauma services, Level 2 laboratory, acute and obstetrical care, psychiatry, and chemotherapy.

Medical Laboratory Assistants perform a variety of duties such as taking blood and specimen samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to departments and outside Labs, operating related equipment, entering data into the LIS and performing related clerical duties and ECG testing as required.

This is a Relief Part Time (0.70) opportunity until September 25, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled rotating days, evenings and nights.
