Sheet Metal Foreman (Penticton)

Ray Johnson Mechanical are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment. This includes ducts, control boxes, drain lines, and furnace casings. The Sheet Metal Mechanic will work with a variety of materials, including galvanized steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. The candidate would be expected to travel to various job sites in the Okanagan area, including Penticton, Kelowna, OK Falls and Keremeos. Location: Penticton, BC Key Responsibilities: - Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets. - Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets. - Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. - Operate hand tools and power tools to cut, bend, and shape metal. - Assemble and secure metal fittings using welding, soldering, and riveting techniques. - Inspect and test installed systems and components to ensure functionality and compliance with standards. - Maintain and repair sheet metal equipment and systems. - Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications: - Minimum of 3rd year. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Completion of a sheet metal apprenticeship program or relevant work experience. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. - Strong mathematical and measurement skills. - Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal machinery. - Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations. - Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and equipment. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Skills: - Certification in welding or HVAC systems. - Familiarity with building codes and industry standards. Work Environment: - Work is performed in a variety of settings, including construction sites, manufacturing facilities, and repair shops. - May involve exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and hazardous materials. - Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, steel toe boots, and hearing protection.
