Summer Arts Administrator. June 29 - Aug 21, 2026 Deadline: May 31 New Stages Peterborough is seeking a motivated and organized Summer Arts Administrator to support our team in the lead-up to the 2026–2027 season. This role offers hands-on experience in a growing arts organization, helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations, audience communications, and preparation for the upcoming season. The Summer Arts Administrator will also assist the Artistic Director with New Stages’ participation in The William and Nona Heaslip Foundation Summer Festival at Trent University’s Catharine Parr Traill College (two shows, Aug 13th and Aug 20th) and at public-facing promotional events like the Peterborough Folk Festival. New Stages is a professional not-for-profit charitable theatre company based in Peterborough, Ontario, with a focus on producing and presenting high-quality, thought-provoking, contemporary theatre. Key Responsibilities - Provide administrative support to the Artistic Director which may include: - Liaise with subscribers and potential subscribers to help coordinate sales, seating, and special requests - Promote the season via both digital content and in-person events and direct marketing - Assist with file organization and database development and updates (CRM) - Help prepare marketing materials, social posts, email newsletters, and website content for the 2026–2027 season. - Support for special projects to promote and enhance future seasons. - Support New Stages’ involvement in Traill’s 2026 Summer Festival by coordinating schedules, artist communication, and front-of-house support as needed. Qualifications - Excellent in using office software (Microsoft/Google) and social media tools; experience with Squarespace (updating website), Mailchimp, and/or CRM software is an asset. - Robust attention to detail and organizational skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Visual communication is an asset (photos/video/design). - Problem-solving and internet research skills are an asset. - Demonstrated interest in arts administration, theatre, and/or nonprofit operations. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a small creative team. - Ability to work remotely and on-site at office and/or venue locations. - Occasional evening/weekend hours required during festival or in-person events. To to eligible for this for this job, you must: - Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job; - Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and - Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Other Information - $18.60/hour, 35 hours per week. - The 8-week contract runs from June 29 until August 21, 2026. - Most of the work will be done remotely, with some in-person requirements, and an option to use an office space in downtown Peterborough if desired. Events and performances will take place in Peterborough. - Funding for this position is provided by Canada Summer Jobs.
