CANDU Mechanical Equipment Designer (Peterborough)

Be part of BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. as a Mechanical Designer specializing in CANDU reactor projects. Leverage your CAD skills to design advanced mechanical systems and components. This role supports the Design Services Manager by focusing on technical direction for projects involving mechanical systems. You will engage in the entire design process, from conceptualization to testing and maintenance support. Working closely with both internal teams and external customers, you will facilitate project success on numerous engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities: - Create creative designs for mechanical systems using CAD - Update and produce detailed drawings and layouts - Lead design reviews and technical discussions with clients - Ensure compliance with quality standards and schedules - Identify and manage project risks effectively Requirements: - Mechanical Engineering Technologist certification or equivalent - Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD software - Strong knowledge of engineering change control - Exceptional attention to detail and teamwork skills - Capable of working with minimal supervision Contribute your expertise in mechanical design to BWXT's pioneering projects.
