Bookkeeper (Pickering)

Location: Pickering, Ontario Job Type: Full Time Employee Experience: Min. 2 years Education: College or University A well-established manufacturing company located in Pickering, ON is seeking for an experienced and highly-motivated Bookkeeper to add to their growing Accounting Team. The ideal candidate must be passionate in playing an active role in shaping the financial success of the business. As a Bookkeeper, you will assist in overseeing and managing financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Your key responsibilities include but not limited to: - Recording Financial Transactions: Accurately record all income, expenses, and financial activities using accounting software. - Maintaining General Ledger: Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger by reconciling accounts, sub-ledgers and correcting discrepancies. - Assist in preparing Financial Statements: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders - Analyze production costs, materials, labor, and overhead expenses - Assist in payroll processing: Manage payroll operations, including calculating wages, withholding taxes, and issuing payments - Accounts Payable and Receivable: Track invoices, payments, and overdue accounts while maintaining solid vendor and client relationships - Assist in reconciling bank statements with internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies - Assist in budget preparation and monitoring: Assist in tracking budgets, identifying variances, and recommending adjustments - Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and assist with internal or external audits - Expense Management: Monitor expenses and recommend cost-saving measures - Working knowledge of GST/HST, EHT, WSIB and other payroll deductions - Ad-hoc reporting and other duties as may be required Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications · College or university degree - major in accounting or finance preferred. · Proficiency in accounting software including ERP systems · Strong understanding of bookkeeping & Cost Accounting principles and practices · Knowledge of Canadian Payroll within ESA guidelines would be an asset · Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. · Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies · Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and client interactions and to address potential financial discrepancies and inquiries in a timely manner · Multitasking skills for managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously · Maintain a high degree of accuracy in recording and reconciling financial transactions within prescribed guidelines and deadlines. · Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members by providing professional and courteous service Interested candidates may apply with their resume and salary expectations.
