Millwork Shop Cabinet Maker (Pickering)

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Maker to join our woodworking and cabinetry team. The ideal candidate will have experience in custom cabinet construction, installation, and finishing, with a robust understanding of woodworking techniques and safety standards. This role offers an chance to work on a variety of projects, from residential to commercial spaces, delivering high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Experience in a cabinet shop is a MUST. Responsibilities - Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately produce custom cabinets. - Cut, shape, assemble, and install cabinetry using hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery. - Ensure precise measurements and quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. - Perform finishing tasks such as sanding, staining, painting, or sealing to achieve desired aesthetics. - Install cabinets on-site with attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. - Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other trades to meet project specifications and deadlines. - Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. - Assist with related tasks such as rebar installation, flooring installation, tile laying, or general carpentry as needed. Skills - Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation. - Experience with woodworking, cabinetry assembly, and installation. - Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, CNC machines, and other woodworking equipment. - Knowledge of construction painting, restoration techniques, masonry, roofing, siding, plumbing, electrical work, and caulking is a plus. - Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. - Familiarity with construction estimating and project planning is advantageous. - Strong attention to detail with excellent craftsmanship skills. - Handyman experience or background in construction or manufacturing is desirable.
