Junior Accountant (Pickering)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our team in Pickering, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, experience with QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Enterprise, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations and assist with maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities - Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions - Process invoices, payments, and expense reports - Reconcile bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts - Maintain accurate financial records and documentation - Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures - Prepare financial reports and accounting summaries - Enter and verify accounting data in QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Enterprise - Support payroll processing and related recordkeeping - Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures - Assist with audits and other financial reviews as required Qualifications - Accounting diploma, degree, or equivalent accounting education - Relevant accounting certifications are considered an asset - Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role - Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Enterprise - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Solid communication and problem-solving abilities - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Interested and qualifying candidates are encouraged to apply.
