Short Order Cook (Casual } (Pickering)

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team in the role of Short Order Cook. This position is essential in ensuring that our food service operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a background in the food industry, with experience in serving, food preparation, and kitchen operations. You will play a vital role in delivering quality meals while adhering to food safety standards. Requirements: Prepare cook-to-order foods, according to customers requirements Complete orders, placing food on plates and serving customers (may require taking orders directly from customers as well) Perform food preparation tasks such as making hot or cold sandwiches, side dishes, salads, assistant in preparation for prepping main dishes. Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters/tables Order supplies and stock them on shelves Daily and weekly cleaning, with strong attention to cleanliness Knowledge of all kitchen stations Required skills and experience: 1 year or more working as a short order or line cook Keen sense of taste and smell Ability to safely use food service equipment (such as knives, oven, grills and fryers… Ability to pull, push, carry and lift items Ability to work in an environment where you will be standing for the majority (all) of your shift Food Handlers certification First Aid Certificate WHMIS certification an asset English oral, written and reading skills Good interpersonal and team skills Reliable and flexible work schedule Ability to remain calm, focused and professional during stressful times Additional information: Travel the world Cafe and Bistro is globally inspired, upscale café and bistro experience, offering a unique blend of international flavors in a warm, stylish, and inviting atmosphere.
