Our client in the West Island is currently looking for a Retail Business Data Analyst to join their team. In this role, you will deliver in-depth data analysis and actionable insights to support business growth and development. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teamssuch as operations, buying, marketing, finance, administration and logisticsyou will analyze sales trends, forecast demand, and drive performance optimization across the organization. Responsibilities Main responsibilities: Gather, analyze, and organize sales data to deliver actionable insights and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Develop automated dashboards and prepare regular or ad hoc sales reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) to analyze customer trends, sales, profitability, and KPIs, highlighting areas for improvement and informing strategic decisions. Evaluate market trends and consumer behaviour to identify growth opportunities and support strategic planning. Collaborate with operations and planning teams to forecast product demand, promotional needs, and inventory requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals. Oversee and optimize business intelligence (BI) tools to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for all users. Provide training and ongoing support to BI platform users, acting as the primary contact for queries on retail performance. Test and implement new BI functionalities and tools in collaboration with the central BI team. Conduct top-line analysis and provide insights to support monthly reporting, financial forecasting, budgeting, and the development of business cases. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Business Administration, IT, Economics, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience in sales analysis, preferably within the retail sector. Strong analytical skills with expertise in data analysis, forecasting, and reporting. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas), Power Point, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Targit. Familiarity with financial planning tools like IBM Cognos or Oracle EPM is a plus. Knowledge of retail-specific KPIs and performance metrics. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong independent and collaborative work skills, with a focus on results. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Bilingual in English and French Summary Why Randstad?
