About the role
You will be responsible for prospecting, soliciting, and developing new business partnerships with a clientele composed of medium to large sized organizations to promote and sell products and services. You will also ensure consistency and balance between sales objectives and portfolio profitability.Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline with key industry contacts and decision makers (Accounts with retail financing volume). Collaborate with Legal, Finance and Risk to negotiate and oversee the rollout of profitable credit programs to new business partners. Establish and execute strategies designed to secure relationships with new retailers.Serve as the contact person for both company and the retailer on significant issues. Assist in the resolution of issues arising between merchants, merchants' customers and Fairstone. Qualifications
University Degree– preferably in Business Administration or equivalent work experience. 5‑7 years’ experience in retail finance industry with a sales background. Knowledge of competitive practices within the industry. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. Ability to analyze the market to identifybusiness opportunities and understand competition.Ability to analyze market and internal operations to determine proper business mix and resource allocation related to profitability. Research and respond to customer inquiries promptly and accurately, and engage in constant negotiation with both retailers and other departments within our company.Ability to perform financial calculations. Demonstrated strong communication skills (oral and written) with all levels of employees, management and customers, and confident and effective public speaking skills. Self‑starter who can work independently while looking for ways to change/modify current processes for improved efficiencies.Proficient in MS Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to work well under pressure. Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver's license. Flexible to work public holidays, weekends and evenings. Must be able to communicate in both French and English with our internal teams and collaborators across Canada (50% French and 50% English).What you’ll love about working here
