Production Manager - Plastic Injection Molding (Pointe-Claire)

The plastic injection molding production manager plans, organizes, and oversees all production activities to ensure that plastic parts are manufactured in accordance with quality, cost, and deadline requirements. Production Management Schedule production orders based on priorities and machine capacity Ensure the proper operation of injection molding machines and peripheral equipment Optimize cycle times, mold changeovers (SMED), and productivity Monitor performance metrics (OEE, scrap rate, yield) Team Management Supervise operators, technicians, and team leaders Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels Train staff on processes and best practices Foster a positive work workplace and ensure effective internal communication Quality and Continuous Improvement Ensure that products comply with standards and customer specifications Analyze defects (flash, sink marks, burn marks, etc.) and implement corrective actions Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives Collaborate with the quality and maintenance teams Maintenance and Technical Support Coordinate with preventive and corrective maintenance teams Participate in the production ramp-up of new products (setups, mold testing) Optimize injection parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, cooling) Cost Management Control production costs (raw materials, energy, labor) Reduce waste and improve operational efficiency Qualifications Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or diploma in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or plastics engineering Experience in a molding manufacturing workplace (5 years) Experience in team management Techniques Proficiency in the plastic injection molding process Knowledge of plastic materials (PE, PP, ABS, PC, etc.) Ability to read technical drawings Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems Lean tools and continuous improvement Management Leadership and the ability to motivate a team Prioritization and decision-making Problem-solving Effective communication French and English (spoken and written) Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2prt2l
