Job Description: As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment within our industrial food facility. You will work closely with other team members to ensure electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment. - Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. - Perform routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems to ensure safe and effective operation. - Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and conduct repairs or replacements of defective parts. - Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes (Canadian Electrical Code, WorkSafeBC). - Collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to improve electrical systems and processes. - Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform corrective maintenance in a timely manner. - Assist with installation of new machinery and electrical systems. - Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance records. - Participate in training and professional development programs to stay up to date with the latest electrical technologies. Requirements: - Proven experience as an industrial electrician or in a similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting, preferably food manufacturing. - Electrical certification or Journeyman Electrician license, Red Seal is required. - Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuits, and electrical equipment. - Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals. - Familiarity with electrical safety standards and procedures. - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces (when applicable). - Ability to stand, crouch, bend, reach, and stoop for long periods of time. - Heavy lifting and manual dexterity required. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Excellent communication skills, written and spoken. - Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime if needed. - Supply and use own hand tools and basic power tools. Preferred Qualifications: - Red Seal preferred or Journeyperson Electrician Certification . - 5+ years of experience in an industrial setting, preferably in food manufacturing. - PLC troubleshooting experience required; PLC programming knowledge is preferred. - Strong troubleshooting skills in VFDs, HMI systems, and industrial automation. - Working knowledge of electrical codes and regulations (Canadian Electrical Code, WorkSafeBC). - Experience with 480V/600V three-phase systems and low-voltage control circuits. - Familiarity with HMI systems, robotics, and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.). - Strong understanding of electrical safety and hazard mitigation (arc flash, LOTO, etc.). - Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
