Early Childhood Educator (ECE) (Port Coquitlam)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our team. Responsibilities - Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote early childhood development and learning. - Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity. - Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication. - Monitor and assess children's progress, maintaining detailed records of developmental milestones. - Support children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or accommodations for disabilities. - Collaborate with team members to plan activities that enhance social skills, motor skills, and cognitive abilities. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials and resources. - Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns. - Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices. Skills - Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in French are highly desirable. - Strong understanding of childcare principles and early childhood education methodologies. - Experience working with children in classroom settings; familiarity with classroom management techniques. - Knowledge of special education strategies and working with children with disabilities is a plus. - Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal—to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. - Competent in computer operation and basic computer skills for record keeping and communication purposes. - Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. - Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide and mentor colleagues or interns. - Effective time management skills to balance planning, instruction, documentation, and collaboration duties.
