Description
Overview The Executive Director will serve as the administrative leader of the Tri-cities Off Road Cycling Association (TORCA). Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will support the operational management and strategic direction of the association, to work towards the TORCA's mission and goals. The Executive Director is dedicated to the responsible stewardship of the recreational trail networks in the Tri-Cities, and cultivating an inclusive mountain biking community. Key Responsibilities · Operate as point of contact for the organization, answering or directing inquiries as appropriate. · Participate in strategic and action planning and provide support for decision-making. · Assist the Treasurer and Executive Board members in creating the annual budget and managing finances. · Support fund-raising through grant writing and managing charitable donations, maintain a grant database and calendar of application deadlines, write and submit grants and grant reports on behalf of TORCA. · Provide regular updates to the Board, attend monthly board meetings and the annual general meeting, as well as other key annual events. Additional responsibilities In addition to the key responsibilities listed above, the successful candidate may be asked to support the volunteer Board of Directors with some of the responsibilities listed below, depending on capacity and skillset: · Act as a public representative of the organization as directed by the Board of Directors. · Assist on TORCA sub-committees as needed. · Oversee regular communication to membership by preparing newsletters, updating website content, supporting social media content creation, and other avenues of communication with the community. · Support the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that further TORCA's mission, in partnership with the board of directors. · In partnership with Board members, liaise with Land Managers, First Nations, local governments, industry, developers, and other external organizations and stakeholders to build relationships and advocate for the trails. · Oversee trail work operations, supporting trail day coordination & trail building workshops, collecting yearly trail assessment information, compile and submit trail report documentation to land managers, assist in management of paid trail work projects (including seasonal trail crew), and support volunteer trail builders.
