Engineer's in Training – Design Group Väderstad is looking for engineers who share our passion for farming. The Engineer in Training will report to the Design Group Manager and work across departments to improve product lines and exceed customer expectations. Responsibilities Create and maintain computer models and drawings of equipment components for all product lines using the change management process. Complete design analysis and refinement. Write and follow through with testing reports. Communicate with internal departments, outside vendors, and customers to formulate design solutions. Identify opportunities to improve quality, cost, and equipment features and follow internal standards and policies. Qualifications University degree in Engineering. Minimum 2‑3 years of progressive engineering experience with design engineering preferred. Excellent computer skills, extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, and proficiency with Creo or equivalent CAD programs. Project‑management skills an asset. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics and electrical circuits is an asset. Knowledge and experience with current farming practices and equipment is an asset. Safety training and Lean training are assets. Core Competencies Mentor junior employees. Maintain membership to APEGS. Mechanically inclined with an understanding of metal and plastic fabrication techniques. Self‑starter with excellent communication and organizational skills. Confident, imaginative, and eager to learn continuously. Works well individually and as part of a team. Able to adapt to new situations and think critically and analytically. Work Conditions The role is primarily an office position with occasional shop exposure during prototyping and testing phases.
