Job Description Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I;) Field Engineer - Night Shift (Industrial Projects) – Mining team, Leroy, SK. Responsible for field inspections, construction walk‑downs, ensuring construction meets electrical and instrumentation design intent, handling technical queries and non‑conformance reports, and linking the Owner (BHP), Engineers of Record (HBJV) and construction team. Work primarily within Integrated Construction Centre (ICC) platforms. Duties And Responsibilities Complete mandatory mechanical inspections for all infrastructure within scope. Sign applicable check sheets upon completion of field inspection. Review submittals related to Electrical and Instrumentation (contractor project execution plan, quality plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection records). Issue quality incident reports. Manage Technical Queries (TQs), Field Change Notices (FCNs), Field Change Reports (FCRs), Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) for electrical and instrumentation discipline. Communicate electrical and instrumentation design changes or field engineering changes with construction and engineering teams. Perform electrical and instrumentation field inspections. Effectively and efficiently leverage ICC platforms and systems to submit queries, notices, and reports. Review installed quantities. Attend and participate in construction walk‑downs and verify closure of punch items. Review turnover documentation. Confirm completion of minimum maintenance and inspection activities for electrical and instrumentation components by contractors. Participate in site risk and control ownership as required. Generate reports on electrical and instrumentation engineering deliverables, execution, and turnover. May involve shaft mining underground work. Operate day‑to‑day ensuring activities are prioritized in line with broader objectives. Attend weekly contractor quality meetings. Prepare field sketches for temporary facilities when required. Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues related to electrical discipline such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high‑voltage equipment, grounding, and DCS systems. Establish electrical design/field engineering working relationships and lines of communication with the Engineer of Record, including agreement on deliverables and overall construction application configuration management. Specify electrical criteria for construction of temporary facilities as required. Review material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct electrical materials. Coordinate and monitor interfaces for electrical data exchange to support construction automation plan and project controls program requirements at the job site. Coordinate with Field Supervision and Subcontractors to plan/support construction schedules. Plan and recommend electrical procedures for Field Supervision to ensure construction operations meet engineering design and specifications. Additional duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Saskatchewan is an asset. 5–10 years of relevant experience in the electrical discipline on large‑scale capital projects, preferably within mining, potash, heavy industrial, or similar complex construction environments. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO standards, ITPs, and auditing processes supporting major project delivery. High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. Ability to learn and apply new systems, standards, and technologies rapidly. Functional knowledge of industry‑leading engineering standards and practices in a multi‑discipline EPC/EPCM environment, including experience with 3D, data‑centric design and construction platforms. Working knowledge of integrated project delivery workflows, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, project controls, health & safety, environment & community, and risk management typical of large mining and industrial capital projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to engage stakeholders, including discipline leads, functional managers, clients, vendors, and construction contractors.
