Empower the youth of Driftpile with the Robust Roots Youth and Family Resilience Program as a Support Worker. This temporary role focuses on cultural healing and educational development. The Strong Roots program seeks a dedicated Support Worker to assist in programming for Driftpile Cree Nation's youth and families. This position emphasizes resilience, addressing the long-term impacts of past injustices. Your role will encompass planning and delivering culturally relevant workshops that build essential skills and promote confidence among the youth. Key Responsibilities: - Create programming that fosters Cree identity and mental health - Facilitate cultural workshops and land-based learning activities - Partner with community members for collective healing initiatives - Lead a Youth Advisory Group for inclusive programming - Collaborate with social and healthcare departments for resource allocation Requirements: - Diploma or Degree in Indigenous Studies or Social Work preferred - Understanding of Cree traditions and trauma-informed practices - Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation - Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checks - Willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification Drive cultural growth and empowerment among youth in this essential community role.
