Role Overview
The Universal Group is seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to drive organic business expansion within our interior region. The role involves strategic identification and pursuit of new opportunities, efficient pipeline management, and fostering sustainable sales growth. Relocation or remote work from the Prince George, BC area is required.Responsibilities
Strategically identify and pursue new business opportunities through diverse channels, leveraging industry insights and market trends. Drive the expansion of opportunities within a robust sales pipeline, generating new revenue streams through effective lead generation. Proactively manage a sales pipeline, overseeing the progression of opportunities from identification to closure.Ensure continuous expansion and effective management of the sales funnel, optimizing conversions and revenue growth. Develop and implement dynamic strategies for revenue and market share expansion, emphasizing sustainable profitability. Optimize organic sales growth by synergizing customer spend across services and capitalizing on cross‑selling opportunities.Act as the primary point of contact for major customer accounts, fostering enduring relationships and ensuring client satisfaction. Cultivate collaboration and partnership at all levels to drive client retention and identify organic growth opportunities. Conduct comprehensive research to identify growth sectors aligned with service offerings and strategic objectives.Execute sales strategies effectively, transparently communicating progress to stakeholders and adapting strategies for continual growth. Qualifications and Experience
Proven track record in outside sales roles, prioritizing new business development; ideally 2–3+ years of experience. Valid driver’s license and willingness to commute/travel within the region. Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM, or HubSpot) and MS Office, particularly MS Excel.History of delivering client‑centric solutions to address diverse needs effectively. Outstanding communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field is an asset. Proficiency in identifying, researching, and qualifying potential leads or prospects within a target market.Ability to address objections, manage negotiations to close deals, and convert opportunities into sales.
