Posting Number: T 2 6 - 116 Date Issued: May 13, 2026 Position: Student Services / Various Schools – Speech Language Pathologist (Continuing, Part time 60% – TBD) Assignment Area(s): Speech Language Pathologist Salary Range: $63,347 to $116,190 Effective Date: September 1, 2026 Deadline for Applications: Friday, May 22, 2026 – 12:00 pm Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience Extensive academic training, qualified preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment. Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment. Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators. A Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology from a recognized university. Eligibility for membership in the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC. Capacity to support students with speech and language needs by coordinating their Speech‑Language Services with the teams in their assigned schools. Ability to identify, assess, and evaluate children with possible significant communicative impairments. Ability to plan, develop, provide, or direct appropriate and effective intervention programs (individually, in the classroom or in small groups as appropriate). Experience working collaboratively with School-Based Teams, including parents, school district personnel, and outside agencies and professionals regarding the student's needs. Capability to consult with teachers, parents, and other school personnel within the framework of an interdisciplinary team. Experience and understanding of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Proven interpersonal skills for developing excellent working relationships with school staff and parents. Ability to develop and present in-service training to school district personnel and parents. Skill to establish, with School-Based Teams, a method of service delivery that includes caseload selection and scheduling, record keeping, program evaluation, developing instructional materials, and supervising speech‑language assistants. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including clear report writing. Experience working in an educational setting with students with diverse needs and disabilities (preferred).
