Job Description Under the supervision of the M&OP; Director, the incumbent is responsible, for a given project, for overseeing the involvement of departmental resources during both the proposal and execution phases. They lead and coordinate the resources assigned to the project. They manage the development of construction methods, plan and design temporary works, supervise the production of models and drawings, and ensure the compliance of the works during their implementation on the construction site. They provide technical support throughout the proposal and execution phases of the project. What You Will Do Work closely with Team Leads and other M&OP; managers to coordinate resources in order to efficiently carry out mandates. Be responsible for overseeing the group’s work, the quality of the documents produced, and adherence to the deliverables production schedule. During the proposal phase, supervise and guide the preparation of general methods and work sequences, equipment requirements, and preliminary design of temporary works. During the proposal or at the start of a project, participate with the M&OP; Director and the construction team in defining the main mandates to be handled directly by the department and those to be subcontracted (if applicable), and establish a deliverables production schedule. Define, in collaboration with the construction team, the general methods to be implemented on site. Coordinate and ensure the production of various documents, including site installation plans, lifting plans, and other project-specific plans. Coordinate and ensure the production of phasing plans: usage cycles of temporary works, general work phasing. Identify the best options for executing temporary works, aligned with planning and general methods, and anticipate site‑related challenges. Design temporary works (special formwork, pile driving templates, platforms, walkways and temporary bridges, steel structures, cofferdams, temporary shoring, etc.) and support engineers involved in the design. Coordinate and ensure the production of models and fabrication drawings for temporary works. Manage the internal and external review process of
engineering documents produced for the project. Validate and finalize the design drawings of temporary works produced for the site. Sign and seal the temporary works drawings. Provide technical support to the construction team for installation and compliance with methods. Certify the compliance of specific temporary works. Be a relevant and credible technical resource for stakeholders. This Role Could Be For You Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering. Have 8 to 15 years of relevant work experience in civil engineering projects and structural design. Have experience in team management. Hold a full engineering license from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). Have robust proficiency in AdvanceDesign or other finite element analysis software. Have strong proficiency in AutoCAD software. Proficiency in Revit and/or Civil 3D is considered an asset.
