Senior Rigging Artist at ILM (British Columbia)

Join ILM as a Senior Creature Technical Director and shape the future of animation with your rigging expertise. This hybrid role allows for onsite engagement while fostering artistic collaboration. The Creature team at ILM anticipates the future opening for a Senior Rigging Artist. This role focuses on crafting high-quality creature rigs and simulations in Maya, addressing complex technical challenges, and assisting junior artists in their development. You’ll be integral to the creative process at ILM. Key Responsibilities: • Develop hero creature rigging and skinning in Maya • Oversee cloth and hair simulation setups • Troubleshoot and solve rigging challenges for artists • Provide mentorship to junior character artists • Script tools and utilities within Maya as needed Requirements: • 5+ years of relevant professional experience • Experience with Maya rigging for animation or effects • Knowledge of Linux and Python scripting proficiency • Understanding of character anatomy and enveloping • Robust interpersonal and communication abilities Bring your creativity and technical skills to ILM, and help shape iconic creatures. #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pni9v
