Description
Location Ottawa and Toronto, CA - Hybrid Other Canadian locations - Remote What you will do All aspects of the machine-learning software development life cycle are familiar to you. You are passionate about shipping large‑scale software systems in a fast‑paced environment, while balancing longer‑term concerns of maintainability, scalability, and quality. You’re fluent in Python object‑oriented development and cloud platforms, and you have hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and big‑data technologies. You will design, build, and ship end‑to‑end ML‑based solutions that solve real customer problems, including architectural design, relevant documentation, test planning, and execution. You will own the end‑to‑end AI/ML software development lifecycle, ensuring reproducible research and state‑of‑the‑art results. You will drive architecture, design, and delivery of advanced ML systems, oversee junior developers, and actively engage teammates to share ownership of the code base. You will also proactively engage outside the team to unblock others while advancing your own technical assignments. What we are looking for Cloud & Managed Services Engineering: Proven expertise in designing, provisioning, deploying, and operating large‑scale systems on AWS, Azure or GCP. Solid hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (managed via Argo CD, Helm, or similar), infrastructure automation using Terraform, and distributed systems. Agentic & Modern AI Frameworks: Practical experience building solutions using agentic AI patterns, RAG, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks like LangGraph/Google ADK/OpenAI Agent SDK, including prompt engineering and context engineering for production of the agentic workflows. End-to-End ML/AI Software Development: Extensive experience developing robust ML‑driven systems with Python and modern data tooling. Skilled in debugging, optimizing, testing, and delivering production‑quality software. Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to guide architecture, mentor developers, and drive high‑quality engineering decisions across teams. Technical Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for both technical and non‑technical audiences. Operate as a technical advisor to managers/leaders. AI‑Driven Software Development: Experience in leveraging agentic software development tools – such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or other autonomous agents – to accelerate delivery of new features and resolution of issues. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field. Experience: 5-7 years of experience in software engineering, machine learning or related fields. Nice to Have Domain Knowledge: Experience with supply chain or manufacturing systems. Solid CS Foundations: Solid grounding in algorithms, data structures, linear algebra, probability, and optimization. Workflow Orchestration: Experience with tools such as Argo Workflows or similar.
