Lead material qualifications, support supplier obsolescence or changes, part non‑conformity issues and production line requests. Lead development of test plans, collaborate with internal and external laboratories, analyze results and prepare, review and approve test reports. Create, review and approve Materials & Processes Specifications and manage associated Qualified Product Library changes. Work in collaboration with Quality and external suppliers to review and approve deviations to engineering requirements. Review and approve engineering drawings, change and release documentation pursuant to technical engineering modifications/specifications. Perform technical reviews and approvals of manufacturing technique sheets, chemical process compliance audit reports and process escapes. Lead R&D; projects, support redesigning activities and investigate materials & processes impacts triggered by new environmental regulations. Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring and training on a regular basis to junior engineers. Qualifications Bachelor or Master degree in Chemical or Materials Engineering from an accredited university. Ten (10) years of relevant experience in an aerospace/military production environment. Extensive knowledge of chemical processes applicable to aluminum, steel and titanium structures (electroplating, chemical conversion coating, deoxidizing, anodizing, passivation, etc.). Deep understanding of corrosion mechanisms in aircraft structures and technologies/processes to prevent them. Knowledgeable about manufacturing processes such as machining, forming, heat treatment, shot peening and surface treatments of aluminum. Knowledgeable about military and/or aerospace industry standards such as MIL specs, Federal regulations, ASTM, ISO and SAE specifications. Ability to coach and provide guidance to junior engineers and suppliers. Proficient at solving engineering problems in a production environment and able to handle complex and critical issues independently. Proactive, result‑oriented and with a strong sense of responsibility. Ability to work in a team environment and interact with Senior Management, Professionals and Technicians from other functions. Respect for diverse opinions while working towards common objectives. Good spoken and written communication skills in both French and English. Good knowledge of CATIA V5 and engineering drawing interpretation.
