Welding Instructor at Red Deer Polytechnic, Central Foothills (Sundre)

Empower the next generation of welders as a Sessional Welder Instructor with Red Deer Polytechnic, starting August 11, 2026. Teach and inspire students in the Welder Apprenticeship program.

The School of Trades and Technology is seeking two Sessional Welder Instructors focused on teaching excellence. Candidates will guide students and develop curriculum tailored to the Alberta Welder Apprenticeship program. This role supports faculty development and collaboration while promoting welding education.

Key Responsibilities:• Instruct apprenticeship theory and practical workshop sessions • Create and refine educational curriculum addressing student needs • Participate in and contribute to program committees • Promote the welder program and assist in student recruitment

Requirements:• Alberta Journeyperson Certificate in Welding • 5 years of experience in a journeyperson role with leadership involvement • Effective organizational and time management skills • Strong communication skills for diverse learning styles • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
