EDI Engagement Coordinator (Permanent Part-Time)
Position Title EDI Engagement Coordinator (Permanent Part-Time) Position Summary The EDI Engagement Coordinator provides coordination and operational support for engagement, awareness, and educational initiatives aligned with Red Deer Polytechnic’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion ( EDI ) Strategy and related institutional priorities.
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, committees, and community partners, the position coordinates events, communications, learning activities, outreach initiatives, and operational supports that promote engagement with institutional EDI priorities and support the governance structure of the EDI Strategic Plan.
Position Responsibilities EDI Engagement and Committee Coordination Supports engagement and awareness initiatives related to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, belonging, and indigenization. Coordinates and supports the activities of the EDI Leadership Committee, EDI Advisory Committees (Employee and Student), and related working groups in support of the EDI Strategic Plan governance structureCoordinates EDI -related engagement initiatives, awareness campaigns, learning activities, events, and outreach opportunities in partnership with internal and external stakeholders Provides administrative coordination and implementation support related to EDI initiatives, communications, educational materials, and engagement resourcesSupports the development and promotion of learning opportunities, educational programming, and awareness activities related to EDI priorities Supports collaboration and engagement with community organizations and external partners related to EDI initiatives, events, and outreach activities Maintains awareness of emerging practices and resources related to EDI engagement and accessibility.
Employee, Student and Community Engagement Support
Supports employees, students, and departments by responding to general EDI -related inquiries and assisting with access to appropriate resources and supports Supports managers and the People&Culture team with communications, documentation, and resource coordination related to EDI initiatives and workplace engagement activities Assists with information gathering, research, benchmarking, participation tracking, and feedback collection related to EDI initiatives and engagement activities
EDI Events and Engagement Activities
Coordinates institutional EDI events, awareness campaigns, commemorative activities, and engagement initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders and community partners Supports the coordination of Truth and Reconciliation activities and events in partnership with Indigenous Services and other campus partnersCoordinates logistics and administrative activities related to EDI workshops, educational sessions, learning opportunities, and engagement activities Assists with development and maintenance of EDI -related communications, online resources, and promotional materials. Assists with the promotion, participation tracking, evaluation, and reporting of EDI -related events and engagement initiatives
Inclusive Recruitment and Outreach Support
Supports the People&Culture team with inclusive recruitment outreach and engagement activities aligned with institutional EDI priorities Assists with the preparation and coordination of recruitment-related materials, communications, outreach resources, and engagement activities Supports recruitment and outreach initiatives by coordinating logistics, tracking participation, and assisting with administrative processes as assignedMaintains and organizes EDI -related recruitment resources, templates, and engagement materials
EDI Engagement Projects and Research Support
Coordinates assigned EDI engagement projects and initiatives, including tracking activities, maintaining documentation, and preparing progress updates. Assists with implementation support related to institutional EDI initiatives, engagement activities, and People&Culture projects. Assists with information gathering, participation tracking, and basic research related to EDI engagement initiatives. Assists with the preparation of reports, surveys, presentations, communications, and summary materials related to EDI initiatives and engagement activities. Maintains records and supporting documentation related to EDI engagement projects, initiatives, and events.Required Qualifications
Three (3) year undergraduate degree, three years of university or equivalent in Communications, Social Sciences, Community Development, Human Resources, Public Relations, Education, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years of related experience Preferred Qualifications
Experience coordinating programs, events, engagement activities, projects, or initiatives Experience providing administrative, operational, or program coordination support in a professional environment Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and related systemsStrong organizational, coordination, communication, and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment and discretion Strong interpersonal and client service skills Experience supporting committees, working groups, events, or engagement activities would be considered an assetExperience working in post-secondary, community engagement, or unionized environments would be considered an asset Knowledge of EDI principles, accessibility, engagement practices, and inclusive workplace concepts would be considered an asset Salary or Hourly?
