JobID: 5113 **Position Type:** Transportation/Bus Driver **Date Posted:** 3/16/2026 **Location:** Ecole Lumsden Elementary and Lumsden High Schools **Date Available:** ASAP **Closing Date:** Until filled **Job Purpose:** Bus Driver is responsible to provide safe and efficient transportation to and from school and school-related activities, working as part of a team to contribute to the growth and development of children and youth. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** - Ability to safely and confidently operate a school bus - Good working knowledge of *The Highway and Transportation Act* and *The Traffic Safety Act* - Good working knowledge of the *Saskatchewan Driver's Handbook* and *Saskatchewan Commercial Driver's Handbook* - Good understanding of, and ability to apply, a range of student behaviour strategies focused on positive reinforcement of desired behaviour - Demonstrated patience, maturity and experience working with children - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision **Qualifications:** - Must hold and maintain a valid Saskatchewan Class 1-5 Driver's License for at least 2 years. - Must hold a valid School Bus Endorsement - training is available for non-licensed school bus drivers - Clear driver's abstract, with no major infractions - A current Driver's Abstract from SGI detailing all (personal and commercial) driving records for the last 5 years must be submitted with your application - A copy of the abstract can be: - uploaded to your online application, - emailed to or - faxed to 306-543-1771. - Satisfactory medical examinations in accordance with *The Highway Traffic Act* - First Aid Certification or be willing to obtain one at Prairie Valley School Division's expense. **Working Conditions:** - Full time bus routes are paid at daily base rate of $57.26 plus a per km rate calculated at $0.22/km - The mileage for this route is paid at the minimum of 90 kms for a total of $77.06 per day - 100% employer paid heanth benefits plan - Employer matched pension plan - Drivers with young children may take their children with them on the bus - Commencing as soon as possible and ending June 26, 2026 - Working in varied climates and differing road conditions - Physical ability to load and unload students in wheelchairs may be required.
