Do you bring strong technical expertise in vehicle safety, inspection standards, and regulatory compliance - and enjoy applying that knowledge to keep Saskatchewan’s roads safe?
We’re seeking a Safety Officer to provide authoritative guidance, technical expertise, and leadership in the development, interpretation, and application of provincial vehicle safety standards.
This role works primarily in an office setting with fieldwork as required and plays a critical role in supporting inspection programs, enforcement partners, industry stakeholders, and the motoring public.
You should consider applying if you:
Have supervisory experience in commercial vehicle repair and maintenance and are comfortable providing technical direction.
Demonstrate strong conflict resolution and communication skills when working with industry, enforcement, and the public.
Bring solid knowledge of vehicle safety standards, inspection requirements, and legislation.
Enjoy coaching and instructing others to ensure consistent application of standards.
Are able to work independently and produce clear, professional written reports and correspondence.
Typically, these skills are gained through a
Journeyperson Certification in either Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic or Truck&Transport Mechanic
and
5– 7 years of practical experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles
as a journeyperson heavy duty equipment mechanic or truck and transport mechanic, with
at least 3 years of experience supervising the repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles .
