Title: QC Inspector - Piping (Fort Saskatchewan, AB)
Open Positions: 1
Scope of Work QC Welding Inspection for piping and installation activities.
Location: Fort Saskatchewan
Start Date: May 4, 2026
Duration: 3 months
Shift: 5 x 2 Shift
Hours of Work: 8 to 10 hours a day
Key Responsibilities
Perform quality control inspections for piping fabrication and installation activities.
Inspect welding operations in accordance with CSA W47.1, CSA W59 (as applicable), ASME codes, project specifications, and approved WPS/WPQ.
Verify material traceability, heat numbers, MTRs, and compliance with piping specifications.
Review and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, weld maps, and fabrication drawings.
Conduct fit‑up inspections, dimensional checks, weld visual inspections, and final acceptance inspections.
Monitor piping fabrication and construction activities including cutting, beveling, fit‑up, welding, PWHT coordination, and surface preparation.
Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, Inspection&Test Plans (ITPs), and defined hold/witness points.
Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain accurate inspection records, daily reports, weld logs, turnover dossiers, and QC documentation.
Liaise with welders, supervisors, engineers, NDT technicians, and client representatives.
Verify NDT requirements, review NDT reports, and confirm acceptance per project criteria.
Promote and enforce site safety requirements and safe work practices.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, welding, and inspection processes.
Requirements&Qualifications
CWB Level 2 Certification– Mandatory
Piping QC Inspection Experience– Required
Solid understanding of carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems.
Experience with shop and field piping inspections.
Strong knowledge of QA/QC systems, ITPs, turnover documentation, and weld traceability.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, weld maps, and piping drawings.
Familiarity with ASME B31 piping codes and LNG construction standards.
Excellent communication, reporting, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary project team.
