Denison is seeking a
Radiation Safety Officer
to support the implementation and ongoing delivery of radiation protection and industrial hygiene programs for the Phoenix Project. This role provides subject matter expertise, supports monitoring and compliance activities, and contributes to maintaining a strong safety culture as the project advances towards operations. Working closely with site teams, technical staff, and regulators, the
Radiation Safety Officer
supports the safe execution of project activities through monitoring, training, reporting, and continuous improvement of radiation protection programs. This is a site-based, rotational role based in Northern Saskatchewan.
Support implementation of radiation protection and industrial hygiene programs for the Phoenix Project
Conduct radiation and contamination monitoring and maintain associated records
Administer worker dosimetry programs
Coordinate calibration and maintenance of radiation monitoring equipment
Deliver radiation protection training, orientations, and respirator fit testing
Contribute to hazard assessments related to radiation and industrial hygiene risks support internal reporting, inspections, and audit activities
Participate in incident investigations and corrective action follow-up as required
Support engagement activities with regulators and other project stakeholders as appropriate
Contribute to continuous improvement of radiation protection and industrial hygiene programs
You are a safety-focused professional with strong technical knowledge of radiation protection practices in a uranium or regulated industrial environment. You are comfortable working in a field-based setting and collaborating across teams to support safe and compliant operations. You bring:
A degree or diploma in Science, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of radiation protection experience, preferably in uranium mining or milling environments
Strong understanding of industrial hygiene and radiation protection principles and monitoring programs
Experience supporting worker dosimetry and contamination monitoring programs
Experience contributing to inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action processes
Proficiency with MS Office and the ability to work with monitoring databases and technical systems
Strong communication and organizational skills
A demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental performance
Willingness to work a site-based rotational schedule in the Northern Athabasca Basin
