The Health Educator - Harm Reduction is a member of the interdisciplinary team and under the general direction of the Primary Care Manager this position is responsible for training, implementation, evaluation and community engagement of harm reduction efforts across Primary health care services. Preference:
Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. Education
Education: Bachelor's degree in a health related discipline. Other Education and Training: Degree in a Health or Human Services field acceptable to the Employer. Bachelor of Social Work is acceptable. Bachelor of Addictions Counseling is acceptable. Competencies
Basic - Organizational skills Basic - Interpersonal skills Basic - Verbal communication skills Basic - Writing skills Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to competently use computers and software applications Ability and willingness to apply harm reduction concepts to practice Sensitive and understanding of diverse cultural aspects of population served Ability to build and maintain effective relationships/partnerships Ability to work independently and as a member of a teamAdhering to professional code of ethics, practice standards Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies For more information on this job, please visit the employer's website.
