Overnight Freight Associate Part-Time - 7245 Regina Northwest

Position Overview Freight Team Associates are responsible for stocking merchandise, organizing the sales floor to create a pleasant and safe shopping environment, providing customer service as required by customer demand, operating reach trucks, forklifts and order picker machines, picking orders, carefully packing them to prevent damage, accurately labeling, and placing orders into specified holding areas.

Key Responsibilities

Stocking merchandise onto shelves to achieve 100% in-stock.

Packing-out and packing-down merchandise as directed.

Merchandising new items and promotions.

Maintaining aisle cleanliness and shoppability to ensure merchandise is accessible and presented in a visually appealing manner.

Maintaining and organizing overheads.

Communicating with other freight team members to ensure all product is stocked in the proper area.

Customer Satisfaction

Follow Home Depot’s Get model of Customer Service (Greeting, Engaging, Thanking).

Ask open-ended questions about the customer’s projects to determine their needs and level of expertise.

Safety and Security

Move freight safely from designated staging areas to overheads or bring merchandise down from overheads using the appropriate equipment.

Ensure customers can move through aisles easily and safely.

Follow all Safety and Loss Prevention Policies and Procedures.

Physical Requirements

Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.

Climbing ladders– ability to climb a ladder up to the height of 12–16 feet to obtain or stock merchandise.

Working Conditions

Working within a flexible schedule that includes overnight shifts and may include evenings and weekends.

Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.

Passing forklifts emit gas fumes.

Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Years of Work Experience

1 to 2 years retail or distribution experience (an asset).

Knowledge of operating reach trucks, forklifts, and order picker machines (an asset).
